BCST

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle hands-on therapy that listens compassionately to the body with non-judgemental presence, to support the body in finding its way back to balance, health and wholeness.

About BCST

BCST addresses the whole person, considering the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of the body.  BCST can help settle the nervous system and reduce stress, anxiety, pain and tension in the body.  Clients also often report improved sleep, improved connection to their bodies and their intuition, and improved clarity in life. Profound changes may be felt in one session but often a few sessions are required to resolve long-standing issues.

BCST uses gentle touch to support your body's innate healing wisdom, helping your body return to balance and heal itself from stress, injury, chronic conditions and trauma.

BCST is generally suitable for all however please note whilst I am training I cannot treat clients who are pregnant or under 16.  There are some further restrictions which are detailed in the following section.

Student Practice Sessions
Appointments & Booking

I am currently in my second year of training as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.  As part of my training, I am offering free student practice sessions.  I have already completed the required number of sessions but will continue to offer these until I complete training in June 2027.

Where?

I am currently treating from my home treatment room in Folkestone, close to Sunny Sands.  I will send you the address at least the day before your appointment.  There is parking outside for up to one hour in residents’ bays, and if for any reason we are delayed I can do online visitors permits.

How much?

Sessions are currently free.  I cannot accept payment or gifts in lieu of payment whilst I am training so please do not offer these.

Who is this for?

As I am still completing training, I cannot currently treat anyone who is undergoing (or awaiting) medical treatment, who has recently had surgery but not yet had post-surgical sign-off from the medical team, anyone who has had any significant changes to medication recently, or anyone who has a health condition that is not currently stable.  I also cannot offer practice sessions to anyone who is pregnant or under 16.  If you are unsure, please contact me to check prior to booking.

What is the intention of the practice sessions?

Please be aware that whilst practice clients may experience benefits from sessions, these sessions are student practice sessions and do not imply a clinical or professional relationship.  The intention of the sessions is for development of clinical skills and not for the therapeutic needs of practice clients.  If personal process or symptoms present, the practice client may be advised to seek the support of a qualified Craniosacral Therapist or health provider.  You will be asked to sign a digital waiver when you book confirming that you understand this.

How long are practice sessions?
Each practice session lasts 40-50 minutes, but please allow an hour so we can take time to check-in before and after.

What should I wear?
You will be lying on the massage table, fully clothed, so just wear something that feels comfortable for you.

How often can I come?

I send appointment availability for the month a few weeks in advance.  You can sometimes book as many sessions as you like but if there are restrictions on availability then I will let you know.  If you are having other treatments (e.g. physio, osteo, reiki, attending sound healing etc.) please leave a few days either side of these to allow your body to integrate.

I have some questions, how do i contact you?

Please contact me by email on hello@somabysarah.com - this email is monitored Wednesday - Friday.

How do I book?

I am currently fully booked with existing clients every month, therefore cannot accept new clients for immediate booking.  There is a waiting list if you would like to join it, I am working my way through the list but it is likely to be a minimum of 3 months.  To join the waiting list please fill in the short form below.
